The Mall Maintenance Operator provides hands‑on operational and maintenance support for both the Wetaskiwin Mall and the surrounding area. Reporting directly to the Mall Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring the properties are well‑maintained, safe, and functioning efficiently.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Act as the on‑site maintenance lead, overseeing day‑to‑day facility and building system upkeep.
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs (HVAC, equipment, and building systems).
- Coordinate and oversee contractors for specialized repairs and service work.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, building codes, and hazardous material procedures.
- Prepare purchase and maintain accurate maintenance and work order records.
- Support mall events and promotions with set‑up, tear‑down, and basic electrical / AV support.
- Offer occasional after‑hours support to respond to facility emergencies as needed.
- Maintain strong working relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal teams.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
1-3 years experience as a Building Operator in a commercial environment.Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems and address minor equipment issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a tenant‑focused approach.Excellent customer service, problem‑solving, and follow‑up skills.Basic computer proficiency ( to use work order systems, email, and maintenance logs)Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.Comfortable working at heights (including ladders) and able to lift up to 30 kg as required.WHATDOWE OFFER?
