The Pre‑Sales Support Engineer’s role is to support the Gqeberha sales team in ensuring that the solutions offered by Technoswitch meet the specified functional criteria and that the quotations submitted by the Gqeberha sales team are accurate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Gqeberha client base with fire detection and suppression designs, providing advice on suitable solutions.
- Assist the Gqeberha sales team with fire detection and suppression designs, providing advice on suitable solutions.
- Correspond regularly with existing and new international consultants via email and telephone.
- In conjunction with the sales team, maintain an accurate database of these consultants.
- Represent the company at local promotional activities.
Support
- Provide first‑level product support to Gqeberha clients.
- Attend site visits with clients to assist with system design.
- Provide product demonstrations to clients on an ad‑hoc basis.
- Assist with on‑site commissioning and fault finding on systems when required.
- Create training schedules and organise venues for external training in consultation with the Training Manager.
Training & Technical
- Assist the Technical Manager as required.
- Assist the Training Manager as required.
- Update the ERP system with all technical assistance cases.
- Provide training to Gqeberha clients on Technoswitch products.
Key Performance Indicators
- ERP case management
- RMA case management
- Number and accuracy of BOQs and designs generated
- Number of external training sessions delivered
Desired Experience and Qualifications
Qualifications
- National Diploma (N6) or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or a related field
Experience
- At least three years of relevant pre‑sales experience
- Proven track record in system design and generating accurate BOQs
- Demonstrated ability to deliver technical demonstrations and presentations to customers
- Advantageous: Industry‑specific knowledge of fire detection and suppression
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in preparing professional proposal documentation
- Fully computer literate
