Job Summary :

Welds metal components together with brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, and transportation bins by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
• Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding
• Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts
• Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding
• Locates and repairs cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education : Completion of college / vocational or technical training with hours to back Welding Level C Ticket

Metal cutting with standard gases.

Own Tools / Equipment : Set of own basic toolsand steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : 75% of the work is in an outside environment and 25% is inside work. Environment can be dusty at times.

Essential Skills : Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use. Filing parts requisitions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
