Responsibilities :
As a key member of the senior leadership team, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), the Director of University Programs & Services is responsible for the development of training programs, policies and procedures; liaise with and maintain ongoing collaborative relationships with program partners such as the University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan, Ministry of Advanced Education, Métis Nation Saskatchewan, school divisions, regional colleges, Sask. Polytechnic and others. Will oversee administrative, human resource, finance, library and marketing activities of all university programs; recruit, supervise, mentor and evaluate university program heads, coordinators, and other staff. Oversee and manage annual training plans, course development and resources. Liaise and maintain relationships with relevant departments of the federal, provincial and Métis governments. Manage the preparation of budgets, ad hoc financial reports, and other reports to the CEO; represent GDI on various relevant committees, advisory boards, working groups and meetings. Advise the CEO of significant administrative, program and financial developments in the carrying out of GDI’s mandate; other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO of the Gabriel Dumont Institute.
Qualifications : The candidate will have a Master’s Degree in a relevant area of study, applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s program may also be considered; previous managerial / supervisory experience at the university level is an asset; a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff, other GDI departments and outside agencies; extensive understanding of Métis culture and the needs of the Métis within Saskatchewan.
