The Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in building and supporting Elements’ fund development and donor engagement efforts. They will be responsible for strategizing, planning, and implementing comprehensive fundraising programs to help advance our mission. This position will be expected to cultivate and steward all donors and sponsorship opportunities, as well as develop new revenue streams that help support and achieve Elements’ mission. This position plays a crucial role in promoting our organization and engaging with our community, donors, and stakeholders. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to build a legacy, develop significant skills and advance their career within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Development Strategy & Implementation :
Collaborate with leadership to set fundraising goals and develop and implement strategies to meet themBuild on Elements’ past fundraising successes and current opportunities and implement new campaigns and initiativesCreate fundraising materials and compelling donor communications to promote giving opportunitiesMonitor progress towards goals and adjust strategies as neededPrepare reports on fundraising activities and outcomesDonor Engagement and Stewardship :
Build and maintain relationships with existing donorsIncrease and secure new donors, funding and engagement through effective donor stewardshipImplement donor cultivation, retention, and recognition activities (ex. donor reports and communication) to facilitate gift renewalsMaintain a comprehensive donor database and records, ensuring accuracy of information and interactions.Elements Visibility and Awareness :
Seek out opportunities to elevate Element’s profile through community events, collaboration opportunities, and community engagementLeverage marketing content, communications and public relations channels including social media to effectively recognize partners, funders, donors and event participantsGrant Management :
Identify, prepare, submit, report on and manage grant opportunitiesMaintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissionsEvent Planning and Coordination :
Plan and coordinate fundraising eventsSupport third party fundraising events and initiativesEvaluate the success of events and implement improvementsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.3+ years experience in a fund development role or a related experience.Experience in the non-profit sector.A reputation of personal integrity and high ethical standards.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute new fundraising initiatives.Ability to identify high ROI opportunities and implement them.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proficiency in Google Suite and Canva.Strong understanding of the funding landscape in Alberta and BC.Existing network of contacts within Vancouver and Calgary is an asset.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Knowledge of and passion for environmental topics is an asset.Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset.Ability to attend in person events and meetings.Benefits
