Medical Advisor/ Medical Affairs Lead

We are currently looking for a Medical Advisor/Medical Affairs Lead for one of our prominent pharmaceutical clients based out of Thornhill, Ontario

Contract duration: 12-15 months

Location: Thornhill, ON/Toronto/GTA - Hybrid or Quebec (Remote)

Role:

The Medical Advisor (or Medical Affairs Lead) in Injectables Aesthetic (IA) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful medical, scientific, and strategic execution of IA portfolio including in line product and future assets.

This position bridges science, clinical practice, and strategy, ensuring that all medical affairs activities are grounded in robust evidence, regulatory compliance, and aligned with our client's mission to advance dermatology for every skin story.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific and Clinical Leadership

• Serves as the medical and scientific expert for portfolio of injectable aesthetic products (e.g., neuromodulators, hyaluronic acid fillers, and biostimulators injectables).
• Provides evidence-based guidance on clinical data, product differentiation, and emerging science to internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Regulatory) and external stakeholders (HCPs, KOLs, professional societies).
• Translates complex data into actionable insights that support safe clinical practice and optimal patient outcomes.

Medical Strategy and Cross-Functional Partnership

• Leads creation and execution of the medical affairs plan that underpins brand plans, ensuring scientific integrity and alignment with global aesthetic vision and strategic imperatives.
• Collaborates closely with commercial, training, and regulatory teams to ensure evidence-based positioning and compliant educational activities.
• Provides comprehensive trainings on products and related diseases to internal staff ensuring accurate delivery for study interpretation and objection handling.

Education and Scientific Engagement

• Designs and oversees medical education programs, speaker trainings, and scientific workshops that elevate injector expertise and patient safety standards across Canada.
• Engages with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and clinical experts to build partnerships, gather insights, and co-create scientific content that advances the field.
• Supports development and dissemination of scientific narratives, publications, and presentations at national and regional congresses.

Compliance and Governance

• Ensures all medical and promotional activities adhere to Canadian regulations and internal governance frameworks.
• Acts as a medical signatory and reviewer for materials requiring scientific validation and approval.

Evidence Generation and Insights

• Identifies data gaps and contributes to clinical research initiatives, including investigator-initiated studies, real-world evidence projects, and post-marketing studies.
• Collects and interprets field medical insights to inform strategy, innovation, and lifecycle management of aesthetic products.

Skills & Qualifications

• Medical, Pharmacy, Nurse Practitioner or higher degree qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD) in a relevant life sciences field.
• Dermatology and Aesthetics experience is essential.
• Proven several years (ideally minimum 5-10 years) related medical and/or research and development experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices industry.
• Demonstrable experience of developing and presenting scientific/medical content at a variety of levels, including to practicing clinical peers and seniors.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Meeting planning and facilitation skills and Ability to interface effectively with a variety of technical platforms.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
• Ability to develop good relationships and credibility with medical professionals.
• 20% travel requirement.
