Job Summary :

Altus Group's Vancouver Development Advisory Team needs a Senior Consultant. The Director, Cost Planning will oversee your work with the team on various asset types and accounts. You will guide a team of consultants to deliver cost consulting services efficiently and drive projects to completion. This covers client delivery, revenue management, company development, technical competence, and consultant team leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct quantity surveying and cost planning activities on construction projects in British Columbia and occasionally help projects in other Canadian and US regions.
• Review and interpret design documents to measure and quantify building elements, apply appropriate pricing, prepare Class D to Class A estimates (conceptual to detailed estimate stages), tender reviews, and change order reviews within deadlines.
• Utilize benchmarking data to analyze project estimates, including unit rates and costs for assets, facilities, and structures.
• Assess and apply appropriate level of detail to estimates given information provided.
• Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance of reports provided by others to ensure billable quality before client delivery.
• Oversee collection, analysis, and interpretation of cost and schedule data.
• Leads, coaches, and mentors team, managing training and development needs for workforce competency. Also ensures team understands and follows Altus policy.
• Manage client communications for projects as principal contact. Communicate with clients and handle issues quickly.
• Manage new customer acquisition and long-term client relationships to increase income through repeat business and referrals.
• Prepare fee proposals for client requests and RFPs, utilizing current market knowledge for Cost Planning services.
• Provide accurate and timely internal billing memos to support client invoice creation and follow up on delinquent invoices.
