Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Unit Controller to join our busy hotel in Winnipeg, MB. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our hotel unit, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel unit, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial projections for the hotel unit
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Manage cash flow and working capital requirements
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Provide financial guidance and support to hotel management team
Qualifications
Accounting certificate, diploma, or related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industryKnowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecastingProficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsUnderstanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulationsExperience with hotel operations and financial management in the hospitality industryExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholdersAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilitiesAdditional Information
