The Opportunity :

Our client is a world leader in the development and manufacturing of analytical instrumentation, with Sales / Service offices in over 25 countries worldwide. We are supporting them in their search for a Field Service Representative to add further coverage to the province of Quebec.

The ideal candidates will be a customer focused individual who has a passion to be on the road and interacting with clients. This person will be practically minded and have a passion for fixing problems with electrical and mechanical equipment. They will be located somewhere near to the GTA.

Our client is a well established North American manufacturer that provides a welcoming work environment, notable compassion for all its team members and an excellent record of staff retention. Ideal location would be Quebec City, though anywhere along Quebec Autoroute 40 to and including Montreal would suit.

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Providing preventative maintenance / general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting and corrective actions to analytical and metallographic instrumentation.
  • Performing installation of new instrumentation
  • Providing customer training on theory, operation, software and daily maintenance.
  • Providing customer telephone support, and assist other Field Service Engineers
  • Planning and coordinate service activities with customers
  • Accurate service / activity reporting with SAP software
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records, weekly reports and vehicle logs.
  • Sales and applications support

What You'll Need to Be Successful :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers in both English and French.
  • Post-secondary Education in Electronics and Micro-processing Technologies
  • Strong mechanical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, follow and understand electronic schematics, and technical illustrations
  • Chemistry understanding, pneumatic and gas control, an asset.
  • Involves extensive travel. Willingness and ability to travel on daily basis including overnight stays.
  • Ability to work with Windows Environment, Microsoft Office and with specific operational software.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, a Canadian passport and credit cards for travel expenses
  • Will need to attend instrumentation training at client world headquarters located the USA.
  • Responsible and self-motivated, with ability to work remotely with limited supervision.
  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Project a positive and confident attitude focused on meeting and exceeding customer expectations
