Elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the business needs (requirements) and
ensure requirements traceability across the project life cycle
Capture the 'as-is' and 'to-be' states (, document business processes, workflows, rules
etc.)
o Work with both the vendor(s) and the colleges on Transition to Operations
Create Test Plan / Approach (including and not limited to testing approach, schedule, test
cases / scenarios, resourcing requirements including roles and responsibilities , test
acceptance criteria, and defect management)
- Testing may include but is not limited to Functional, Regression and User Acceptance
- Liaison and consult with vendor
Build out Power BI reports based on ad-hoc requirements put forward by the colleges,
Ministry of Advanced Education (AE) and Ministry of Immigration and Career Training
ICT).
- Prove out and test out of the box Power BI reports and enhance as required
- Build skill sets within each college to support and maintain BI reports post go-live
Work with vendor to migrate data from One Client Service Model (OCSM)
Analysis to define how the colleges use various types of fields in modules and populate look
up tables
Liaison with the Advanced Education Ministry Information Technology Department (ITD)
resources
Client Support and Technical Strategy :
Establish and maintain regular communication pathway with college(s) whose instance(s) is
being worked on and elevate needs to vendor as required.
- Advocate for solutions as required in conjunction with implementing college.
- Support the collection of current state business processes with implementing college and
assist colleges in determining new business process flows.
Defining technical requirements for modifications and work-arounds to vendor where the
existing software lacks critical functionality.
Defining and passing on enhancement requests to Thesis to recommend future improvements
which would support college needs.
Facilitating the collective definition of base reports and the necessary content required
through liaising with Government of Saskatchewan.
- Facilitating collective naming conventions for some data items.
- Ensuring that an evolving set of collective business rules around the SIS are defined and
respected through each implementation to ensure a required level of consistency
Negotiating and collecting data values which require collective input.
Overseeing high-level data load strategy including volume of history to extract through
legacy system and engage strategy to create the data file.
Facilitate establishment of course master from OCSM to each college for their review, edits
and coding prior to upload to Elements.
- Configuration of some system values, adding users for each college.
- Clarification of testing vs production environment protocols for each implementation.
- Creation of some common user documentation including potential training documentation
for the college sector. Skill set info Expertise in integrating various software solutions and platforms.
Knowledge of API development and middleware solutions for data exchange.
Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, or similar relational database systems.
Ability to develop and manage database structures to support application functionalities.
Experience with all stages of SDLC, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies for managing system implementations and upgrades.
Technical Architecture and Configuration :
Expertise in designing and configuring system environments, including hardware, network, and software components.
Experience in troubleshooting and performance tuning for large-scale applications.
Knowledge of data migration processes between legacy systems and new applications.
Expertise in ensuring data integrity, mapping, and cleansing during migrations.
Security and Compliance :
Understanding of data security protocols and relevant compliance regulations.
Ability to implement and manage security policies for application environments.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis :
Strong experience in gathering and analyzing functional and technical requirements from stakeholders.
Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
Experience in analyzing existing business processes and recommending optimizations.
Ability to drive process reengineering to align with system capabilities.
Stakeholder Communication :
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
