Work with a fast-paced culture and a Great Place To Work® Canada Certified Digital Marketing Agency. We are looking for a Mid-Level WordPress Developer who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and takes ownership of both execution and outcomes.

This is a fully in-office role in Oakville, Ontario, for a developer who moves quickly, prioritizes intelligently, and continuously improves both code quality and user experience.

Your Role As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining high-performing websites that support SEO, paid media, and growth initiatives.

You will: · Develop custom WordPress themes and components from scratch.

• · Build and customize websites using Elementor and other modern builders.
• · Implement Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and Custom Post Types.
• · Optimize site performance and Core Web Vitals.
• · Implement technical SEO best practices (schema markup, redirects, sitemaps, structured data, crawlability improvements).
• · Troubleshoot bugs, fix tickets, and proactively improve code quality.
• · Manage staging environments, version control (Git), and deployment workflows.
• · Work closely with SEO, Paid Media, and design teams to ensure websites support campaign performance.
• · Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-moving agency environment.
• · Suggest improvements in UX, performance, and architecture — not just execute tickets.
• · Install, configure, customize, and maintain WordPress plugins while ensuring compatibility, security, and performance (including troubleshooting plugin conflicts and minimizing plugin bloat).

Who You Are You’re a developer who balances speed with quality.

You don’t wait to be told what to fix — you identify issues, propose improvements, and take initiative.

You likely: · Have 2–4+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience.

• · Are confident working with PHP (7/8), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design.
• · Have experience with ACF, Custom Post Types, and custom theme development.
• · Understand performance optimization tools and techniques (caching, minification, image optimization).
• · Are comfortable implementing technical SEO elements directly in code.
• · Can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• · Thrive in a structured, in-office team environment.
• · Communicate clearly and collaborate well with non-technical stakeholders.
• · Move fast, prioritize effectively, and close tickets without sacrificing quality.
• · Agency experience is a strong plus.

Must-Haves · 2+ years of WordPress development experience.

• · Experience building custom themes (not only page builders).
• · Experience with Elementor and custom development.
• · Strong understanding of website performance optimization.
• · Basic understanding of technical SEO principles.
• · Experience with Git and staging environments.
• · Excellent written and spoken English.
• · Eligible to work full-time in Canada.
• · Must be able to commute daily to our Oakville office.

Nice to Have · Shopify development experience (Liquid, theme customization, store builds).

• · WooCommerce experience.
• · Experience working with hosting platforms (WP Engine, SiteGround, VPS environments).
• · Knowledge of security best practices and website hardening.
• · Experience integrating CRMs, marketing automation tools, or APIs.
• · Conversion rate optimization (CRO) mindset.
