Job Description

JOIN OUR TEAM AND HELP LEAD WITH CARE, COMPASSION AND COMMITMENT!

ABOUT THE ROLE

St. Joseph's Care Group is seeking a Mental Health Clinician - Regional Services to join our Eating Disorders Program. This specialized program delivers intensive outpatient assessment and treatment for youth, adults, and their families experiencing eating disorder-related concerns. Services are provided by an interdisciplinary team and span the full spectrum of care across Northwestern Ontario.

In this role, the Mental Health Clinician – Regional Services will provide specialized service delivery to clients residing in Northwestern Ontario, utilizing a collaborative consultation model with regional health professionals to support the ongoing management of individuals experiencing eating disorders within their home communities. The clinician will deliver client-centred, evidence-informed assessment and treatment, including meaningful support and engagement with family members and caregivers.

This position also carries a significant indirect service component focused on regional outreach, system engagement, and capacity building. The clinician will work proactively to strengthen partnerships with community agencies, primary care providers, schools, and other key stakeholders across Northwestern Ontario. Through consultation, knowledge exchange, and collaborative planning, the clinician will support the development of local capacity to identify and respond effectively to eating disorders. This includes promoting awareness of best practices, enhancing care pathways, and supporting communities to deliver timely, coordinated, and culturally responsive services. The role requires ongoing engagement with regional partners to identify service gaps, support quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of a sustainable, integrated system of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate education and consultation for key community contacts in rural and remote areas regarding Level 1 care, appropriate referral pathways to more intensive services, and recommended follow-up supports.

  • Coordinate and deliver educational sessions for regional health professionals on current evidence-based practices related to the identification, assessment, and treatment of eating disorders.

  • Maintain and monitor a regional database tracking the incidence of new eating disorder cases presenting to community-based clinicians to inform service planning and system responsiveness.

Applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. However, consideration of submissions after the deadline will be at the organization's discretion. Applicants are encouraged to apply by the Hiring Deadline.

This posting is for an existing vacancy within the organization.
