The Opportunity

Medicom is seeking a motivated Project Engineering Intern to join our team for a 4-month internship starting May 2026.

In this role, you will support the the engineering and project teams with machine safety and validation activities within a manufacturing environment. The role provides hands-on exposure to safety assessments, documentation, and production line commissioning while contributing to risk analysis and the verification of machine guarding and regulatory compliance.

This posting is for a newly created internship position to support our growing manufacturing operations.

What You Will Do

  • Support the engineering and project teams with machine safety and validation activities.
  • Assist with tracking and identifying gaps between installed machine guarding, technical drawings, and safety requirements.
  • Support the design, coordination, and execution of safety validation activities for production lines.
  • Participate in risk assessments and safety reviews. Assist with on-site inspections and tagging of equipment.
  • Support the tracking, reporting, and closure of punch list and corrective action items.
  • Help prepare documentation and reports related to safety validation and commissioning activities.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the level of the role.

May include other related duties as required, provided such duties are reasonable and consistent with the employee’s qualifications and role responsibilities.

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
  • Currently enrolled in a co-op program through a recognized post-secondary institution and eligible to complete a full-time work term
  • Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and P&ID diagrams
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and compare them with on-site installations
  • Basic understanding of machine safety and applicable safety regulations
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Available to work full-time (Monday–Friday) on-site at our London, Ontario manufacturing facility for the duration of the internship

Assets

  • Previous internship, co-op, or academic project in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23 to $25 per hour.
