Position Overview

You’re comfortable taking charge of supply requirements to ensure the needs of core customers are met on a consistent basis. With your expert analytical mindset, you’re prepared to provide strategic support to the broader Energy Supply and Resource Development group.

As the Midstream Market Analyst, you’ll assist with the execution of the daily plan to meet our core load in a cost-effective manner, including mitigation activity. Relying on strategic relationship building, you’ll liaise with Gas Control, Gas Accounting, and Finance groups, as well as with external customers.

In this role, you will :

  • Develop a general understanding of gas supply resources as defined in the Annual Contracting Plan optimization and mitigation strategies.
  • Nominate and schedule daily quantities on third-party portals and in the Horizon ETRM software.
  • Provide weekend, after-hours, and holiday coverage as part of the midstream on-call rotation.
  • Support the development of the Annual Contracting Plan and other Gas Supply regulatory filings.
  • Provide analytical support to the Energy Support business unit.

What it takes :

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of recent and related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Substantial knowledge of the utility industry is an asset.
  • Sharp analytical thinking to identify problems, provide solutions, and support various business units.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across the Company.
  • Superior strategic and innovative thinking in decision-making for supporting regulatory filings.
  • In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
