For this casual position, we are seeking a candidate who demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and has availability to pick up shifts on short notice when required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with varying shift patterns and adapt quickly to changing needs.
As a Medical Receptionist / Tech Aide Hybrid, you play an integral role in all our journeys, by ensuring that we continue to provide reliable, accurate, and compassionate services to our patients, referring physicians, and your coworkers. This is a hybrid position that requires the employee to work as a Medical Receptionist or Tech Aide depending on the business needs and the wage is determined by the position the employee is assigned to do on their shift. The employee will be paid receptionist wage when they are assigned for receptionist duties on a particular shift. Similarly, they will be paid Tech Aide wage when they are assigned to perform Tech Aide duties.
As the first point of contact in the clinic you will set the tone for our patient journey within the clinic, as such we expect that you will enter every interaction with respect and dignity by providing every patient with clear, detailed, and timely care.
As a Medical Receptionist, your main responsibilities will include checking patients in for exams, booking follow up studies as required, coordinating patients for multiple exams, ensuring that all front desk responsibilities are completed, all while ensuring a smooth patient and clinic flow.
Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Greeting and checking in of all patientsDocumentation of patient information on computerNotifies appropriate department of patient arrival.Ensures all previous examinations are imported.Porter and change patients in preparation for exams.Answering phones and directing calls to correct recipient when necessary.Handle all incoming report and image requests.Requesting previous exams from outside facilitiesLooking up and importing previous studies prior to arrival of scheduled patientsPhotocopying, faxing, mailing.Order and maintain adequate office inventory.Constant communication with Diagnostic Imaging staffMust maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and / or results.Schedule all follow up examinations.Schedule appointments for all in house patientsProvide patients with exam preparations.Ensure the front waiting room is tidy.Unpack and distribute daily courier bags.Sign for and direct any deliveries and supplies coming into the clinic.Any other duties deemed necessary by Site Lead or Reception ManagerAs a Tech Aide you will be required to partner with all clinic staff to ensure that they are provided with support and assistance consistently. Your main responsibilities include chaperoning exams, ensuring patient rooms, change rooms and high touch areas are sanitized and ready to go for the next patient.
You will also be required to porter patients, and to assist in creating a smooth patient and clinic flow.

Chaperoning male Ultrasound Techs for all Pelvic ExamsCleaning all Ultrasound Patient Rooms (Stretcher, Machine, Chairs, Countertops, Doorknobs, and Handles)Cleaning additional Patient Rooms (X-Ray, Fluoroscopy) throughout the clinicCleaning all Clinic Change Rooms and Waiting Rooms throughout the clinic.Hourly Clinic Cleans (Doors, Handles, Washroom – Sinks, Door Handles, Toilet Handles, Dispensers (Soap, Paper Towel, Toilet Paper, Sanitizer), Floors (as required), Stock Items as needed.Assist with patient flow : Change and Porter Patients – Update IDDA with locations.Department specific responsibilities as availableUltrasound Specific Responsibilities
Clean EV ProbesTest HLD Chemicals (for probe cleaning) in the morning and change as needed.Deliver printed baby pictures to obstetrical patients as needed.Escort obstetrical patients to reception to ensure routine pregnancy exams are scheduled (NT, anatomy, and follow up exams) as required.Restock Supplies – Table Paper, Towels, Gel (Packets and Bottles), Pillowcases, Probe Covers, Wipes, Spray, Cleaning Cloths, Kleenex, Sanitizer for doors, Red Dots in Echo RoomsX-Ray Specific Responsibilities
