Aecon is currently looking for Project Coordinators to join our Nuclear Infrastructure Projects. In support of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment, we are setting up all the necessary infrastructure to start the refurb. This includes a new office building and control centers inside the protected area and upgrades to existing buildings both on the Pickering site as well as off-site.
Supporting the Infrastructure Project Team, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for readiness planning, execution, and closeout of their assigned scopes. This includes ensuring all material supplied as required, writing work packages and instructions, and supporting their work in the field during execution.
What You'll Do Here
Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan,activities,milestones, and manpower requirementsDevelops and maintains the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments oftheprojectProvides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedulesControls expenditures within limitations of project budgetIdentifies project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate tradesandsubcontractorsMaintains meeting minutesIndentifies risks to Risk Manager and indentifies actions for entering into the action tracking logCoordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnoverdocuments, etc.Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customercontractrequirements and related specificationsCoordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and testproblemsInterfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensures customer needs are metProvides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and managementAssists and monitors safety programs and statistics as requiredWrites and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documentsActive involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and proceduresWhat You Bring To The Team
Technical (Engineering or Engineering Technology) education is preferred but not required2-5 years of engineering and / or construction project experienceExperience with civil construction (geotechnical work, building foundations, etc.) is an assetProficient written (report writing) communication skillsKnowledge of SharePoint applications an assetStrong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large teamExperience in the Nuclear Industry is not requiredAbility to work in the Pickering office 5 days a weekAbility to support execution on nights and weekends where required
