Summary
As Mechanical Engineer II you will work with the Engineering team on the mechanical design and drafting, as well as performing analysis of power electronic and communications systems. You will be involved with the design, fabrication and modification of mechanical and / or electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. This may include Mechanical, Thermal and Fluid analysis, Mechanical packaging or others. This position is an on-site role, working in our Bedford, NS office. This is a temporary 12-month contract position.
As Mechanical Engineer II Power Electronics, your main responsibilities will include :
- Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigate solutions to product or process problems.
- Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. Knowledge of military standards, including but not limited to MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-167-1A, MIL-STD-1472 considered an asset.
- May use computer-aided engineering or other design / analysis software in the performance of assignments.
- Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them.
- Provide input on budget, cost and schedule input for designs.
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services.
- Responsible for completing technical activity and completion of activity on time and budget.
- Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
- Develop prototypes to evaluate designs.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers as required.
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
What you require to be successful in the role :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field5+ years professional experience in mechanical related projectsP.
