Job description

We are in search of an Accounting Associate, who will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance in our team. The successful candidate will be located in Cambridge, Ontario, and will contribute to the overall financial wellness of our organization within the automation solutions industry.

Responsibilities :

  • Accurately maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
  • Manage the processing of incoming and outgoing payments, handle vendor and client invoices, and guarantee the prompt collection of receivables.
  • Oversee the review and processing of employee expense reports, ensure adherence to company policies, and reconcile corporate credit card statements.
  • Assist in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Carry out monthly bank reconciliations to guarantee consistency between bank statements and company records.
  • Perform quarterly HST returns.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Identify areas for potential process improvement in accounting procedures and participate in the development and implementation of new efficiency-enhancing practices.
  • Carry out other administrative duties as required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working as an Accounting Associate or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in Account Reconciliation to ensure that account balances are accurate.
  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
  • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations to confirm the accuracy of financial records.
  • Solid bookkeeping skills to maintain and balance financial reports.
  • Proficient in Data Entry tasks to maintain and update financial records.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing financial data.
  • Experience in managing Month End Close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks for managing business payments, billings and payroll functions.
  • Experience in Expense Management to monitor and control business costs.
  • Ability to create and manage Expense Reports to track business expenses.
  • Familiarity with General Ledger operations to record all business transactions.
  • Knowledge of HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) regulations and processes.
