A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Production Manager, you will lead unionized manufacturing and assembly operations consisting of operators and assemblers responsible for building components and products for the distribution transformer business. Your role is to ensure that all team members are engaged in meaningful, value-added work while proactively removing obstacles that hinder progress. You will drive adherence to safety, quality, and delivery objectives, ensuring targets are consistently met on schedule. Additionally, you will lead and support building a strong and positive company culture and labor relations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance on the shop floor, meeting all local standards. Manage workforce administration, including time scheduling and resources planning.
- Plan, prioritize, and dispatch daily production activities to achieve customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor operations and resolve issues promptly through daily performance reviews.
- Actively contributes to labor relations management, including the negotiation, interpretation, and application of the collective agreement, as well as participation in relevant committees.
- Optimize resources and equipment, identifying and driving improvement initiatives, tooling needs and supporting maintenance activities.
- Develop team capabilities by driving training, skill development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, operations manager, or similar role in a unionized industrial environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, machinery, and tools.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build trust and collaboration.
- Solid understanding of production processes and quality standards.
- Self-motivated problem solver with a proactive approach to challenges.
