Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Project Engineer / Coordinator to join the St. John's NL team, with experience in the Mining industry.
The Role
In line with the Wood core values and personal commitment to the core values, the Senior Project Engineer / Coordinator will ensure delivery of the service in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, in line with contractual requirements, to the satisfaction of customers and to Wood.

Responsibilities
Ensure the project scope is well defined and agreed among all stakeholders. This includes project deliverables, project assumptions and project risksManage both internal and external project stakeholders and ensure important, relevant information is communicated regularly to all stakeholdersAct as the focal point for a ssigned projects. Manage project related issues with Client Project Engineers and Wood Discipline LeadsProvide mentorship to more junior project managers / engineerEnsure adherence to Wood’s and Client project management, change management and document management procedures and processesReview and approve purchase requisitions, contracts, and invoices within authority levelEnsure the baseline cost estimate and schedule reflect the scopeMonitor costs and budgetsMonitor delivery status and progress, communicating delivery status and progress to appropriate stakeholdersFacilitate management review, detailed design clarification meetings, constructability reviews and close out meetingsFoster an environment of openness, trust and honesty in support of Wood’s Core ValuesEnsure that Lessons Learned Reviews are conductedQualifications
An Engineering Degree or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institutionMinimum 10+ years experience with relevant engineering and / or project management experience, preferably in the mining sector, with a proven track record in delivering on schedule and budget. Any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may also be consideredStrong understanding of project management principles and objectives with a strong emphasis on project executionExperience with Front End Loading (FEL) studies (Levels 1, 2 and 3) for project development is essentialAbility to communicate at all levels of both internal and Client organizationWork with minimal supervision and must be self – starter who takes ownership of tasks through to completion with successGood working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of P6 considered an assetExcellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsGood verbal and written communicationAuthorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is requiredAbout Us
