Role Overview
As Marketing Manager, your primary responsibility is to communicate, identify, and execute marketing initiatives efficiently. To achieve this, you will design, develop, and implement the Centre’s overall strategic marketing plan to optimize net operating income.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an annual marketing plan leveraging diverse platforms to support marketing objectives.
- Research and formulate branding strategies, creating detailed tactics that positively impact the Centre’s financial goals : revenue, leasing, sales, excess rent, traffic, and market share.
- Collaborate with the Leasing Manager and partnerships to implement revenue‑generating opportunities tied to commercial development, including mall assets, media assets, and programming to meet sales targets.
- Design and execute retail intensification strategies that drive awareness and sales.
- Align the brand vision with the overall creative strategy for the website and Centre presence, coordinating with design agencies and IT leadership.
- Explore trends and develop partnership and promotion programs that meet Centre objectives while supporting community efforts.
- Work with an external agency to review and refine marketing communications, ensuring optimal brand accuracy and integrity.
- Promote marketing opportunities to tenants and nurture relationships.
- Create annual marketing budgets based on tenant contributions, allocating spend for events, advertising, and brand messaging to achieve Centre goals.
- Forecast and maximize marketing spend, analyzing Centre and tenant sales performance, excess rent, and ROI on a monthly basis.
- Supervise and implement local and regional tourism programs (as applicable).
- Coordinate sign‑age, advertising, and communication programs to ensure quality and effective use.
- Manage marketing assets around renovations, redevelopment, and expansions to deliver effective messaging to buyers (as applicable).
- Prepare media platform plans, purchases, and selections to reach the Centre’s target audience efficiently.
- Drive growth and engagement across social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), data collection, and email marketing.
- Advance Primaris Gift Card program by identifying and acting on promotion opportunities, measuring effectiveness.
- Maintain and evaluate customer research (traffic counters, focus groups, intercept studies), continuously analyzing data to ensure marketing direction is relevant and effective.
- Continuously monitor and report on advertising value generated by community events, marketing, and partnerships.
- Stay informed on primary, secondary, and tertiary commercial developments affecting the Centre.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, commerce, or a related field.At least five years of experience in strategic marketing, event management, sales, sponsorship, or a related field.At least three years of experience supervising, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.Expertise in retail management, marketing, advertising, and media.Strong management, strategy, and analytical skills.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, sales, and negotiation abilities.Innovative problem‑solving to improve tenant and consumer experience.Budget management knowledge.Competencies
