Go-Go Group Inc. is hiring a FULL-TIME After School Program Assistant Coordinator :

The ASP Assistant Coordinator is responsible for helping run their ASP locations according to Go-Go and standards, policies, and procedures. This includes all the daily operations of one or more permanent or mobile ASP locations. The duties of the position will involve assisting in implementing curriculum, acting as a secondary contact with parents (when the coordinator is unavailable), communicating with the coordinator regarding programs needs / ideas, completing daily housekeeping tasks as well as working directly with children, setting up special activities, and other duties as assigned. The ASP Assistant Coordinator is also responsible for operating the Chinese for Fun program at East Coast Leadership Academy and all Go-Go Programs, teaching children about Chinese culture and language.

The salary is $50,000 per year plus health & dental medical benefits and starting with 2 weeks paid vacation.

Location of Work : Fredericton, NB (primary locations being 861 Woodstock Road and 80 Two Nations Crossing) with travel to all Go-Go programs and locations, as needed.

Specific Job Duties Include :

Participation in Daily Operations and Working Directly with Children :

  • Act in ratio and be responsible for child management.
  • Perform a daily check before the children arrive — assuring the room matches the photos in the
  • Look Book.
  • Complete all task lists, reports, and forms and put them in the designated binder within the designated timelines.
  • Regularly review the child profile binder and keep all items up to date.
  • Keep children's records, information, and files in a designated binder in a locked cabinet or secure area.
  • Keep all appropriate licenses and signs posted, visible and up to date.
  • Check your location's email account hourly to ensure you are up to date on child absences and news / information pertinent to your location.
  • Review the child attendance list and note those with special needs, allergies, colds, or other requests by parents.

Responsibility for all Health and Safety Protocols :

  • Ensure mandated government child to staff ratios are always respected.
  • Check that your first aid kit is fully stocked and out of the reach of children.
  • Participate in the daily cleaning of the centre.
  • Maintaining Standards, Policies, and Procedures :

  • Inspect daily to ensure all brand, and provincial standards, policies, and procedures are met.
  • Ensure stations are set up in an exciting and inviting way.
  • Ensure that all communications, vocabulary, gestures, reward systems, and routines are consistent with Go-Go expectations at all times.
  • Complete equipment checks — equipment should be in good repair, clean and organised.
  • All learning stations are to be kept ready to be used and welcoming / inviting.
  • Family Relationship Management :

  • Act as the secondary person responsible for maintaining a good rapport with parents by greeting them as they pick up their children.
  • Maintain a good relationship with all site staff (principals, teachers, admin, etc.).
  • Chinese For Fun Requirements

  • Teach Mandarin to Go-Go and ECLA students.
  • Plan, organize, and implement the Chinese for Fun program for ECLA and all Go-Go Programs.
  • Travel to all Go-Go programs to present the Chinese for Fun curriculum with all Go-Go groups.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 Ibs, and capable of standing for an hour without sitting or leaning.
  • Capacity to play, skip, jump, climb and run with children for periods of 30 minutes or more.
  • Capacity to remain alert and observe several children at a time for a full shift.

  • Qualifications / Requirements :

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a childcare environment is required.
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Must be fluent in Mandarin, in addition to fluency in English and / or French.
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Workplace First Aid with CPR C and AED certification.
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance.
