In this role, you'll get hands-on experience and plenty of support as you grow with this fantastic opportunity.

Key Responsibilities for the Job :

Entry of new hire information and payroll data Track and update employment statuses, banking information, benefits, and time sheet data within the HRIS and payroll systems Support the Payroll Manager in the entry and processing of a variety of payroll runs Reconcile and verify account balances Journal entries Calculate and tracking vacation time, leaves, deductions, etc.

Issue ROEs and support with T4 documents Investigate payroll discrepancies, and working with team members to resolve them Onboard employees in benefit and pension plans, providing general information as needed Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payroll and / or HR Other payroll and human resources duties, as assigned

Skills & Attributes for Success :

Completion of post-secondary education, ideally a recent graduate of NSCC's Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management Successful completion of a payroll-focused internship Comparative relevant education and experience will also be considered General knowledge of HR, payroll, and / or basic accounting practices Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite Motivated work ethic with the desire to learn and grow Calm, professional demeanor with the ability to actively listen to others in a team environment Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
