Senior Systems Engineer - Aerospace / eVTOL

People Hive is supporting a client in the search for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join an innovative aerospace engineering team developing next-generation hybrid-electric eVTOL aircraft.

This is a prominent opportunity for an engineer with a strong systems engineering background to contribute to aircraft-level and system-level development, establish best practices, and shape the systems engineering methods, tools and culture within a growing organisation. The successful candidate will work across multidisciplinary engineering teams, translating complex and evolving requirements into robust engineering solutions while ensuring safety, quality, regulatory compliance and successful project delivery.

The role leads systems-led development activities for hybrid-electric aircraft powertrain architectures, defines and manages system requirements, and drives continuous improvement in engineering practices.

Critical Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering within the aerospace or automotive industry
• Practical experience with ARP4754A and ARP4761 standards
• Hands-on experience in systems development, integration or testing
• Familiarity with eVTOL certification regulations and airworthiness requirements from TCCA, FAA and EASA

Important Requirements

• Experience working across all phases of the engineering and product development lifecycle
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies and best practices
• Knowledge of INCOSE principles and systems engineering frameworks
• Experience developing safety cases, verification strategies and risk mitigation approaches
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting business development and project development activities
• Background in hybrid-electric powertrain architectures

Salary: CAD 120,000 – 165,000 per year
