Overnight Elder Care / Respite Support Needed (Dundas, Ontario) We are a caring family in Dundas, Ontario, seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced caregiver to provide part-time, occasional overnight respite support for our 82-year-old mother. Our mother is Filipina and requires assistance throughout the night with mobility and personal care needs. She may need help getting in and out of bed, using a bedside commode, and changing incontinence briefs. She takes medication for edema in her legs, which can result in frequent nighttime bathroom needs. She also lives with several chronic health conditions, including COPD, and receives oxygen therapy at home. Responsibilities Assist with getting in and out of bed as needed during the night Support safe transfers to and from a bedside commode Assist with brief changes and personal care Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support Monitor for comfort and safety throughout the night Respond when assistance is needed (you do not need to remain at the bedside continuously) Qualifications Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification preferred Experience supporting seniors with mobility challenges and personal care needs Patient, compassionate, dependable, and respectful Comfortable working in a family home environment Comfortable around pets (1-2 friendly dogs in the home) A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle is an asset, as public transportation in the area is limited About the Position This is an occasional overnight respite role that would help provide support and peace of mind for our family while ensuring our mother remains comfortable, safe, and well cared for.
