Job Description

Location: Barrie, ON
Pay Rate: per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8: AM – 4: PM
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent (after 3 months)

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Lead Hand with a strong background in manufacturing and previous supervisory or lead hand experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, hands-on, safety-conscious, and capable of independently overseeing daily shop operations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with overseeing daily manufacturing and shop floor operations.

• Provide direction and support to production employees.

• Ensure production activities are completed efficiently and according to established procedures.

• Monitor workplace safety and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

• Work with tools, machinery, and production equipment.

• Follow instructions and take direction while demonstrating initiative and independent decision-making.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

• Take responsibility for running shop operations independently when the Owner is away.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

• Prior supervisory, team lead, or Lead Hand experience is required.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing tools, equipment, and production processes.

• Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to follow instructions, take direction, and make sound decisions when required.

• Must be reliable, responsible, and comfortable taking ownership of daily operations.

Ideal Candidate: Someone with proven manufacturing and leadership experience who can confidently oversee the shop floor and ensure smooth daily operations in the Owner's absence.
