As a Traffic Control Person, you will protect workers, the public, and employees while maintaining traffic flow. The Universal Group is recognized among Canada’s Best Managed companies in 2026. This work includes traffic control setup, equipment adjustment, emergency response, safety compliance, reporting, and public de-escalation. Availability requires at least three weekdays, with occasional weekend work available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up traffic control zones and adjust work zone equipment
- Give motorists clear, precise traffic control directions and signals
- Conduct traffic control within training and experience abilities
- Attend toolbox meetings and participate in incident investigations
- Report safety matters, noncompliance, and conflicts to management
Requirements:
- Valid BC Traffic Control Person certification from a regulatory body
- Effective communication and public de-escalation skills
- Commitment to quality, safety, and responsiveness standards
- Availability for three weekdays and occasional weekends
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
