Job description
Teach Introduction to Computing II in person at uOttawa’s Main Campus, using advanced Java and data structures expertise. Support English-language laboratories during Winter 2027.
The University of Ottawa seeks four Teaching Assistants for ITI1121, Section C, in the Faculty of Engineering. This appointment runs January 1 through April 30, 2027, for 130 total hours. Responsibilities include weekly laboratories or tutorials, assignment correction, office hours, email support, and examination proctoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver weekly laboratories and tutorials
- Correct assignments and complete related duties
- Provide weekly office hours and email support
- Proctor midterm and final examinations
- Prepare and update course laboratories in HTML
Requirements:
- Advanced object-oriented programming experience in Java
- Excellent knowledge of list, stack, queue, and tree structures
- Strong command of Java libraries and graphical interface design
- Strong English comprehension and writing skills
- Complete the course or equivalent and prerequisites with A or better preferred
