Forensic Recreation Therapist Whitby

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences seeks a Recreation Therapist for its Forensic Rehabilitation Unit. The position uses recovery-focused care and supports treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery programming. You will contribute to patient Plans of Care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess individualized and group therapeutic recreation needs
• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs
• Evaluate programs supporting treatment and rehabilitation
• Provide functional and strength-based social skill programs
• Contribute to patient Plans of Care

Requirements:

• Therapeutic Recreation degree or diploma
• Two years of related experience
• Current TRO membership
• Knowledge of recovery and mental illness
• Valid driver's license and CPR Level HCP certification
