Hospital Food Service Worker

Serve nutritious meals at High River General Hospital using food preparation, customer service, and teamwork skills in a casual position. Support patients, residents, staff, visitors, and the community through accurate meal service.

As a Food Service I with Alberta Health Services, you will complete routine food preparation tasks under Food Services Supervisor supervision. Your work includes portioning, packaging, tray assembly, patient meal delivery, and cleaning. You will follow established menus, safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards while supporting a patient first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, handle, portion, and package food and beverages
• Assemble kitchen trays and serve dining room meals
• Deliver patient meals and collect completed meal trays
• Order and store unit supplies appropriately
• Clean equipment, dishes, tables, and serving areas

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent
• Ability to lift food, supplies, and equipment up to 46 pounds
• Ability to push and pull meal carts up to 250 pounds
• Basic computer applications knowledge and experience
• Ability to attend one to two orientation days
