Part Time Personal Support Worker

Provide personal support at Extendicare through direct patient care, including ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming, in a part time schedule. Support patients’ physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs through established care routines.

The PSW/HCA/CCA provides direct personal support and care to patients at Extendicare. Responsibilities follow policies, procedures, work routines, applicable legislation, and nursing care plans. Care planning systems, documentation, dementia care, and palliative care experience are relevant to this work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct personal support and care to patients
• Assist patients with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming
• Address physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs
• Follow policies, procedures, work routines, and nursing care plans
• Document care using applicable care planning systems

Requirements:

• Completed PSW Program or appropriate HCA/CCA certification
• Experience in long term care or community home care preferred
• Exposure to dementia and palliative care preferred
• Ability to communicate positively with staff, patients, and families
• Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions
