Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Extern

Build hands-on pharmacy experience at Oak Valley Health as an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Extern supporting unit dose dispensing and prepackaging. Days and evenings are scheduled Monday through Sunday.

This externship provides practical experience within a hospital drug distribution system. You will complete technical and administrative pharmacy tasks while supporting safe, effective medication distribution. Assignments may include quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives, with other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform technical tasks related to unit dose dispensing
• Complete administrative tasks supporting outpatient pharmacy functions
• Prepare medications through prepackaging activities
• Support quality assurance initiatives when assigned
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives when assigned

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
• Some related pharmacy experience preferred
• Recognize limitations within your scope of practice
• Demonstrated knowledge of drugs
• Typing and computer experience considered an asset
