Large Animal Hospital Operations Manager
Manage patient services with a primary focus on the Large Animal Hospital, combining workforce leadership with safe, efficient operations. Support clients, patients, and hospital teams throughout care delivery.
At the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre, this Manager supervises veterinary technicians, hospital assistants, sterile processing technicians, and animal care attendants. You will coordinate staffing across a 24/7 operation, support Pharmacy, Client Services, and Medical Records, and contribute to teaching and research environments. Experience in large animal veterinary practice is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure positive client and patient experiences from contact through discharge
- Supervise diverse staff across multiple hospital service areas
- Align staffing schedules with service volumes and workload changes
- Coordinate cross-training for coverage and development
- Identify efficiencies that improve care and reduce costs
Requirements:
- Relevant veterinary, healthcare, or administrative education
- Registered Veterinary Technician designation recognized in Ontario
- Six years of progressive supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to analyze, recommend, implement, and evaluate changes
- Protective rabies titre required for this position
