Environmental Services Laboratory Technician

Support SGS Environmental Services laboratories in Peterborough or Lakefield through sample preparation, equipment calibration, and accurate results handling. Rotating shift availability is required.

As an entry-level Laboratory Technician, you will help maintain reliable laboratory workflows from sample reception through analysis. Duties include preparing standards and reagents, setting analytical batches, evaluating results, managing LIMS records, and supporting sample storage and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, identify, prepare, dilute, and analyze laboratory samples
• Set up analytical batches and complete batch quality control
• Prepare standards and reagents before laboratory analysis
• Evaluate results and report quality system discrepancies
• Coordinate sample retrieval, disposal, or return to clients

Requirements:

• No previous experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Science degree or diploma is a strong asset
• Good hand-eye coordination with samples and equipment
• Ability to follow instructions accurately, safely, and timely
