Job description
Wage:
$43.45 per hour + benefits according to Union Local 30 Provincial Collective Agreement (full-time position)
Location of Work:
Various locations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Province of Ontario
Job Description:
- Assist with repair, replace or install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions;
- Assist/install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
- Assist/install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
- Assist/install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
- Detect leaks
- Pour hot asphalt and tar
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Set-up scaffolding
Job Requirements:
3-5 years of experience
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Hand-eye co-ordination, physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads; Large workload, Repetitive tasks, overtime required, work under pressure, fast-paced environment.
Area of specialization:
Conventional and inverted built-up system, modified roofing system, rigid pre-formed roofing system, single ply sheet membrane roofing system, tiled roofs, skylights
Work Site Environment:
At heights, Noisy, Dusty, Dangerous, Outdoors
