Senior Mechatronics Design Engineer

Build and validate precision gimbal hardware in Hamilton, Ontario, with expertise in electro-mechanical systems, rapid prototyping, and technical documentation. Work across SHOTOVER’s international teams.

This experienced Mechanical Engineer supports SHOTOVER’s growing local design team developing camera systems for gimbals. The work covers complete mechanical and electro-optical subsystem development, from initial concepts and analysis through manufacturing, verification, troubleshooting, and documentation. Minimal supervision and individual contribution define the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct and validate engineering prototypes for design intent
• Optimize products for assembly, manufacturing, and testing
• Create part, assembly, and manufacturing documentation
• Support supplier selection, manufacturability, and component quality
• Maintain delivery timing and design quality standards

Requirements:

• Advanced mechanical CAD and PDM software skills
• Sound structural and thermal analysis capabilities
• Understanding of precision electro-mechanical drive design
• Rapid prototyping knowledge and hands-on engineering approach
• Five years’ relevant advanced design and testing experience
