Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician

Red Seal Field Technicians diagnose material handling equipment in Kitimat, British Columbia, on an onsite fly-in, fly-out schedule. Repair hydraulics, machinery, and electric engines for customers.

Leavitt Machinery seeks a skilled Field Technician for its Service team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will repair and maintain varied machinery across Northwest British Columbia, especially Prince Rupert. The work includes safety inspections, customer communication, parts coordination, service documentation, and timely completion of assigned jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair material handling equipment and machinery
• Complete routine maintenance and safety inspections
• Communicate service progress with the Service Dispatcher
• Discuss job scope and repairs with customers
• Coordinate parts and complete required warranty documentation

Requirements:

• Red Seal Heavy Duty or Automotive trade certification
• At least five years of related repair experience
• Hydraulics and electric engine service experience is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and regional travel availability
• High school diploma and strong communication skills
