Technical Support Specialist Linux Networking

Use Linux, Bash, and IP networking expertise remotely across the United States as Tantalus Systems’ Technical Support Specialist. Troubleshoot smart-grid systems for utility customers.

Reporting to the Manager, Field Operations Support, you will support Tantalus customers across the TUNet technology set. The work spans embedded hardware, software, communications networks, databases, Linux back-end systems, web front ends, and service interfaces. You will connect Field Operations with Product Development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot TUNet hardware, software, networks, databases, and interfaces
• Upgrade and patch TUNet software on customer systems
• Review, prioritize, and escalate open technical cases
• Configure and maintain customer billing exports
• Support new product introductions and periodic scripting tasks

Requirements:

• Diploma in information technology or higher
• Two or more years in customer service or technical support
• Linux, Bash, TCP/IP, FTP, SSH, and firewall knowledge
• Virtual machine and Oracle SQL or similar RDBMS experience
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and prioritization skills
