Education Assistant Individual Student Support

Support student safety and individualized learning at Bowen Island Community School as an Education Assistant working 29.5 hours weekly.

West Vancouver Schools seeks an Education Assistant-Individual(s) reporting to the District Administrator or designate. You will help implement adaptations and strategies in student Individualized Education Plans, primarily in classrooms or learning support rooms. Work occurs under classroom teacher or Learning Support Teacher direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in ongoing planning for student IEP adaptations
• Implement classroom and learning support strategies
• Maintain vigilance for student and staff safety
• Provide personal assistance, care, or positioning when required
• Implement behaviour safety plans and support student movement

Requirements:

• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent training and experience
• Special Education Assistant training or related post-secondary courses
• Recent experience and training supporting ABA programs
• Experience supporting children with diverse special needs
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
