Pharmacy Assistant Prescription Workflow

Support prescription workflow and customer service as a Pharmacy Assistant at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store. Work directly with prescriptions and pharmacy operations.

This Pharmacy Assistant role supports technical dispensing functions and pharmacy service delivery. You will receive prescription orders, enter data, process refills, and prepare medications according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice. The role also provides timely service while maintaining privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather prescription information according to established Standards
• Enter new prescriptions and process refill requests
• Select, count, measure, package, and label medications
• Maintain accurate data in applicable pharmacy systems
• Refer clinical inquiries and counseling needs to pharmacists

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Pharmacy Assistant credited course diploma preferred
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred
• Effective organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
