Recreation Aide for Nursing Home

Provide engaging recreational activities in a nursing home setting as a Recreation Aide. This role involves planning meaningful programs while ensuring effective communication with residents and staff.
In this position, you will report to the Recreation Director and assist with various tasks to enhance residents' well-being. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in recreation, particularly in long-term care. Your responsibilities include planning activities, evaluating resident progress, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement programs for resident engagement
• Evaluate and document residents' progress
• Communicate effectively with families and staff
• Attend in-service training for ongoing education
• Assist with meal services and daily activities
Requirements:
• College diploma in Recreation or Leisure Studies
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Proficient in Point Click Care software
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Current Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening within 6 months
Support the elderly through creative recreational programming in a caring environment.
