Job description
Design rail carbody structures in CATIA V5 while coordinating technical deliverables, design reviews, and multidisciplinary interfaces for rolling stock projects.
This engineer develops shell parts and sub-assemblies, including underframes, side walls, roofs, end walls, and cab structures. The work includes structural concepts, space allocation, detailed drawings, welding specifications, and GD&T. You will integrate FEA results, manage design changes, and support project delivery through established processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design carbody shell structural parts and sub-assemblies using CATIA V5
- Develop structural concepts and define interfacing system space allocations
- Produce drawings with welding specifications and GD&T
- Track models, drawings, BOMs, technical notes, and design risks
- Support production during prototype builds and manufacturing ramp-ups
Requirements:
- Knowledge of applicable rail standards, including EN 15085 and ISO 3834
- Ability to integrate stress and FEA calculation results
- Understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly
- Ability to manage configuration changes and interface issues
- Ability to contribute to DFMEA and technical non-conformance resolution
Apply carbody structural engineering expertise across CATIA V5 design, rail standards, FEA integration, and production support.
