Municipal Engineering Co-op Student

Gain municipal engineering experience with the City of Victoria while supporting research, reporting, and software-enabled operations. This temporary placement runs Monday to Friday.

As a Co-op Student in Engineering & Public Works, you will receive meaningful assignments under direct supervisor guidance. Your work supports supernumerary projects aligned with departmental goals, including traffic and safety data, future-focused initiatives, and shared learning. Experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with ongoing enhancement of City operations
• Support strategic field and office projects
• Conduct and document research for assigned initiatives
• Draft reports, procedures, and workplace practices
• Present findings to supervisors for feedback

Requirements:

• High school education
• Current enrollment in a Canadian co-operative education program
• Full-time attendance and subsequent-year study plans
• Undergraduate degree or technical school diploma program standing
• Ability to learn independently and follow job instructions

Develop practical municipal project experience through research, reporting, analytical work, and supervised operational support in Engineering & Public Works.
