Senior Data Governance Specialist

Shape trusted data practices at AltaGas through hands-on governance, data quality, and Responsible AI work across business and technical teams.

As a Senior Specialist, you will operate governance and data quality practices supporting analytics, automation, data products, and AI. You will establish ownership, stewardship, standards, decision-making, and accountability across the business. The work requires stakeholder management, measurable controls, and clear business communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate daily data governance and data quality practices
• Lead governance councils, working groups, decisions, and escalations
• Onboard data owners and stewards with clear responsibilities
• Define critical data elements, quality rules, and controls
• Coordinate quality issues through remediation and sustainable solutions

Requirements:

• Four to five-plus years in data governance or related disciplines
• Experience implementing governance, stewardship, ownership, and issue management
• Knowledge of glossaries, quality dimensions, workflows, and Master Data Management
• Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, or business reporting
• Ability to explain technical data concepts in business language
