Road Construction Serviceperson Nanaimo

Build and maintain Nanaimo roads using concrete construction, finishing techniques, and mobile equipment. This permanent full-time role supports the City of Nanaimo’s Public Works department.

As a Roads Serviceperson I, you will report to a Supervisor while maintaining concrete sidewalks, brick pavers, boulevards, asphalt roadways, and pathways. The position also involves operating, maintaining, and servicing mobile construction equipment and vehicles with related attachments. Your work supports road infrastructure throughout the city.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct and maintain concrete sidewalks and curb infrastructure
• Maintain brick pavers, boulevards, asphalt roadways, and pathways
• Operate mobile construction and maintenance equipment
• Service vehicles with related attachments
• Maintain road infrastructure under supervisory direction

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education
• Minimum six months concrete construction and finishing experience
• Experience with concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, median driveway, and road construction
• Valid traffic control ticket
• Valid Class 3 British Columbia Driver’s Licence with Air Endorsement
