Job description
Use civil engineering design and municipal servicing expertise to review development applications for the City of Brantford in Southern Ontario.
This permanent full-time position supports the Development Engineering Division and reports to the Project Manager, Development. You will review engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and plot plans. The work also includes storm water management, road design, infrastructure coordination, and technical comments for planning applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and comment on engineering submissions
- Review plans for new residential houses
- Research development-related municipal servicing requirements
- Respond to developers, consultants, departments, and public agencies
- Assist with policies, procedures, and technical standards
Requirements:
- Community college diploma in Civil Engineering Technician studies
- Three years’ experience emphasizing municipal servicing and road design
- Comprehensive municipal infrastructure and urban planning knowledge
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings and technical reports
- Microsoft Office, GIS, and Adobe Acrobat Pro experience
