Youth Leadership Program Support Worker

Support youth through culturally safe, trauma-informed frontline service while leading engagement in the Youth Connections Leadership Program. Possible evening and weekend shifts apply.

Reporting to the Interim Director of Transformation Justice, this six-month fixed-term Support Worker assists the Youth Connections Leadership Program Coordinator. The work uses empowerment techniques, Indigenous culturally relevant lived experiences, and Mi’gmaq values to support healing, wellness, and positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide frontline assistance, mentorship, and positive behavior modeling
• Lead youth engagement and recognize every youth voice
• Organize workshops, recreational activities, games, and fitness events
• Maintain safety equipment, facilities, signage, and computer operations
• Complete profiles, audits, incident reports, and activity assessments

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Willingness to complete on-the-job training
• Understanding and practice of Mi’gmaq values
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and Vulnerable Sector check eligibility
