Prescription Processing Pharmacy Assistant

Use prescription processing and inventory control skills as a Pharmacy Assistant at Walmart’s Calgary location, supporting accurate, organized pharmacy operations.

This Pharmacy Assistant handles prescription intake, computer functions, and filling activities under the Pharmacist’s supervision. The work includes interpreting written prescriptions, recognizing drug names, calculating dosages, and completing accuracy checks. It also supports inventory, administrative records, OTC operations, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess prescriptions for completeness, requests, allergies, and coverage information
• Enter patient information, process refills, generate reports, and check profiles
• Select, count, measure, prepare, label, and organize prescription products
• Order, receive, price, stock, and maintain pharmacy products and supplies
• File records, maintain equipment, and assist OTC cashier operations

Requirements:

• Be 16 years of age or older
• Follow provincial legal and regulatory prescription conditions
• Recognize drug names and interpret Latin prescription abbreviations
• Complete accuracy procedures, including visual and DIN checks
• Follow Pharmacist direction and maintain organized work areas
