Buyer Machining Fabrication Procurement

Source machining and fabrication services with ATS Industrial Automation in Cambridge, Ontario, using blueprint interpretation and supplier negotiation skills.

This Buyer role supports subcontracted purchasing for custom manufacturing at ATS Industrial Automation. You will review engineering drawings, select vendors, process purchasing documents, and monitor deliveries. The position also requires procurement knowledge, material planning concepts, and strong communication with suppliers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review blueprints and determine required subcontract work
• Select and evaluate suitable subcontract vendors
• Process requisitions, purchase orders, and cancellation forms
• Track deliveries against production schedules
• Negotiate pricing, credit terms, discounts, and delivery arrangements

Requirements:

• Three years of machining or fabrication experience
• Three years of purchasing experience in custom manufacturing
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
