Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomy Technician

Use phlebotomy expertise and patient care skills as a Laboratory Assistant with Dynacare across Tottenham and Keswick, Ontario. Permanent part-time day shifts are available.

This Laboratory Assistant position processes blood samples and other specimens while supporting accurate requisition and results entry. You will provide empathetic customer service during stressful patient situations. The work includes venipuncture, specimen handling, ECGs, Holter hookups, and specialized collections. Clear English communication and careful attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process blood samples and other laboratory specimens
• Enter patient, test, requisition, and results information accurately
• Obtain quality specimens through skilled venipuncture techniques
• Perform ECGs, Holter hookups, and specialized collections
• Prepare specimens and documentation for laboratory transportation

Requirements:

• Secondary School completion and Laboratory Assistant training
• Specialized phlebotomy training through a Medical Lab Assistance course
• MLPAO or CSMLS certification strongly recommended
• Customer-focused approach with genuine patient care
• Detail-oriented, deadline-focused, and proficient in English
